[Good try, but Ian's already guessed that it's never fooled Souji and it's not going to start now, but Souji's nice enough to let his friend think it has. Now that he's pushed himself harder to get closer to Ian, his legs are shaking from the strain of running for so long and he's putting his hand out to steady himself against another tree. Thankfully, his wounds have healed up just in time for him to deal with something else entirely. They threaten to give out under him, but Souji's willpower seems to be enough to override that desire.
In a way, it's sort of nice to see Ian transformed again, even with the wasted energy. It's something of a nostalgic comfort to be reminded that they all have access to their powers if it gets bad enough.]
They got me. [Souji taps his chest.] Grabbed some kind of ball of light out of me, but I don't know what it was. They ran off before I could get it back. Zakutor's chasing them now.
[He's obviously concerned about what that whole thing means. There wouldn't have been a display like that unless he was actually affected by something, right?
When he finds enough strength, Souji pulls himself up and pushes his back against the tree. If there's anyone who can help him figure out what's wrong, different, or missing, it's Ian.]
