[He offers the small pile of gold feathers to Daigo.
Utsusemimaru's feather memories are few in number but rich with detail, and all but one (his first experience with ice cream courtesy of Amy) are from the Sengoku Period. Though it did not come by choice, he's actually thankful for the opportunity to share his past with Daigo in ways mere words could not suffice.
There's his first time meeting Torin, the awe he felt for Torin's swordsmanship and the delight from the first time Torin called him a friend. A mild spring afternoon spent playing with the children of the town, laughing as they jumped on his back and swung from his arms. His embarrassing first kiss with a samurai only a few years older, tasting of eagerness and sake, interrupted quickly by his lord's scolding. A quiet moment on the anniversary of his parents' deaths spent praying side by side with his lord, who offered advice and condolences and strength; the moment Utsusemimaru realized he was ready to fight for this man until the end of his days.
Despite some bittersweet notes, happiness characterizes all of the memories Utsusemimaru gives to Daigo, and he's smiling when he finishes sharing them.]
