[He shakes his head, it wasn't her fault.] You didn't do anything wrong. I even said that on that day.
Maria's interest is, has been and always will be in my brother. I'm not him.
[He reaches out and takes the feather from her grasp, the memory wrapping around him as the object fades from his fingers. The memory plays and he is literally assaulted with too much information. Emotions of every kind torrent through him, both his own as he experieces this and the Yuuki from this memory.
But it's the little things in it that really hit home. The look Aidou gives her when he realizes Kuran's blood isn't sating her--connects to another of his own memories. Comments the other vampire had made to him over time. The absolute shame she feels because of this attachment. Self-loathing. Despair. The weight of this burden is much heavier than he can bear--the blame she's placed on her shoulders. So much of it belongs to him and he doesn't know how to even begin to remove some of it before it literally crushes her.]
I--[His voice catches, emotions still high as he tries to say what he's feeling. There are no words that can get everything across, but he's going to try to at least start someplace. His voice comes out as little more than a whisper.]
You were supposed to be happy...
[He could do what he needed to do as long as he knew that.]
