[After those few days spent in the mountains, he finally decides it has been long enough, the eagles telling him that they've seen no one in the area, no one who is aware that he is even there, at all. So he makes it down from the mountains, on foot as it might be too dangerous to use his true form, climbing down and then back up to the cave... but immediately, it is clear to him something is different. The magic that was trying to keep him away is no longer there.]
[He hurries inside, and it is as he feared -- the cave is empty. There's a long moment when he does nothing, simply staring at the remains of the chains that kept his twin here; where is he now? Has a hunter become aware that he was here, and moved him to another location? Did someone free him? And if someone did, why didn't Kamui stay and wait for him, when he had promised to come back?
None of it makes sense. But even then, he knows there is only one thing he can do-- to find his brother again. After all... he promised. Promised he wouldn't leave him, promised they wouldn't have to be apart again.]
[And so, he returns back to the forest, not knowing where else to start searching -- but after long, endless hours and hours of walking, all the animals he might ask for help fleeing at the sight of him, he collapses at the side of a small pond, feeling more hopeless than ever. That he should find his twin, only to lose him again... it's too cruel.]
