If you are willing to give it your best effort despite those doubt, Sire, I would thankfully accept it. To the best of my knowledge the school has never asked of its teachers to be formally qualified, and I do not plan on implementing any such requirement now. It stands to reason that there will be something of a learning curve - if you will pardon the expression - for most anyone taking on the position. Of course I will take that into consideration with any new hire.
But should you still be uncertain of your qualifications... well. This might sound conceited, but as I am the only teacher it cannot well be helped: as I am left with the task of hiring, I assure you, if you are unsuited to the I job will let you know. Should that be the case, I will humbly thank you for your efforts, but I will not hire you.
