Not because he's sad about having no friends to spend the day with, but because the Usyagi have been periodically pestering him and Stiles at the Bakery, trying to convince them to take a break and go for a boat ride together (they both all but broke out in hives at the sheer idea).
Now he's at his hotel reception job, finally, maybe now he'll have some time to peacefully--]

[The Usyagi flutters over to pointedly look at a piece of paper on the reception disk - Sebastian's schedule for the day (all work, not a single break). It waves the two coupons in its paw.]
I am well aware of how my schedule looks, thank you. Besides, the only other "person" here is that [he jerks his head to indicate his magical broom, not even pausing in his paperwork] and surely you don't mean for it to--
[But the broom, Sebastian notices, has paused in its diligent floor sweeping to stand in the doorway and - hopefully? imploringly? - sway back and forth in place.]
