[In a contradiction to what Ciel wants- and isn't that just typical of him, to expect and desire contradictory things- this is not the answer he peripherally hoped for.
But would he be able to trust him, if Sebastian had come right out and started swearing fealty so easily? Probably not. And yet, Ciel pushes the issue, some masochistic part of him wanting to confirm that he is alone in this, that the only sure support he can rely on has already perished in the fires all those years ago. He's already turned his back on the light. Did he honestly expect a creature from the dark to fill that spot?]
But you are a demon, and therefore I hold you to the demon's standards. I know you possess them, your precious demon's aesthetic, and your kind are more honest about your desires than humans will ever be. Do you not adhere strongly to your own code of ethics?
