Pepper gives a tiniest, wry hum at the response, lips pulling into a mirthless smile for a moment. It's not like she can't smell it on him; how it went. She detests it, the need for it -- that there are those among her kind so unconcerned and uninterested in even trying to get along with humans peacefully. But how can she expect everyone to be able to fight their nature? They're predators, pure and simple. She supposes it's her and those that think like her -- that maybe one day they could all find a way to co-exist without useless bloodshed -- who are the odd ones out.
Not that she's an innocent, herself. She'd do whatever necessary to serve her Queen and their common interests. Tony had been one of those necessities, if perhaps laced with some private indulgence; he's attractive and she'd been without companionship for a very long time. But they both know that they've long since moved past that point.
"That's... yes." Shaking off her preoccupation and private concerns, she smooths her hands across her skirts idly and finally turns to face him, running her gaze up and down over him the same way she always does when he comes back from his hunts. "Did you meet anybody?" Any hunters, she means. Or perhaps, anyone new and suspicious, maybe.
