[This was a spectacularly bad idea. Hearing the noises, people speaking, all in a very concentrated area, excited chattering-- well, Matt thought, might as well check it out, what was happening. It could never hurt to be aware of even the smallest changes or events.

Because the combination of everything in the two shops is a little more than overwhelming; the smell of sweetened syrups, chocolate, artificial flavoring, flour, coffee, all mixing together, the espresso machine grinding the beans in the cafe's back room so loudly that the noise rings in his ears, becomes an echoing mess with the footsteps, people talking...

Matt isn't exactly trying to catch Lancelot's attention, but a man with sunglasses inside, standing near the doors with a grimace and fingers pressed at his temples, looking like he'd escape outside if only he could gather enough concentration to move-- that is probably enough to catch it anyway.]
