Re: question
I don't have much deep commentary aside from that I enjoyed reading that novel.
Elsa/Bucky would never have happened if it weren't for me and Celen's shippy ways event shenanigans, because like you suspected, Elsa's feelings on romance can be summarised as NOPE ROCKET TO PLANET NOPE. I think as a child, before her life started sucking, her plan was very firmly "I might take a prince consort but only if he's awesome enough, if not I'm fine on my own" and waaay post-canon I can see her edging back towards that mindset somewhat. If it happens it happens, but it's not something she actively seeks.
I'm personally on Team: Elsa's Powers are a Metaphor for Mental Illness rather than for her being gay (although I definitely see why people would read her as queer and I don't dismiss those who do), but with that said, I like the idea of, if she should end up with someone it'd be another woman.
Now for the ramble about Bucky part: She's always liked him and thought he's a strong, admirable person, but ever since the event she. does have feelings for him. I mean, she's stuck with years' worth of memories of being in love with him and she, unlike someone with a very organised, calculating mind like say, Jamie, is not good at compartmentalising her memories/feelings into "real" and "unreal". This being Elsa, she'll deny and bottle up those feelings 'til kingdom come because NOPE ROCKET, but you know, even if the feelings didn't grow organically, I think Bucky would really be a pretty good match for her. He's smart and witty, outgoing enough to contrast well against her introversion, not to mention he's positive and so stubbornly believes in her and won't give up on her - and, well, obviously she does well with someone like that at her side.
Since romance is the way to go: his canon situation being what it is, do you see Neal ever moving on from Emma in Kiseki? Actually, talk to me about his love life in general, canon and pre-Emma, since I have no idea about it at all. Does he have a type?
