Julie stood her ground, raising an eyebrow at Simon who was assuming she was too stupid to understand the difference between Fiction and Non-Fiction. That wasn't a smart move on his end. Not at all.
So, as Julie was found to do in those situations when she was faced with a boy pretending to be a vicious man (or as her dreams were making her live alongside a boy that never wanted to grow up), Julie raised her head with a strength that came from deep within her. Her hands rested on the edge of Simon's desk, and she looked at him with narrowed eyes and quoted verbatim from The Scroll, "Perhaps an experiment gone awry has had disastrous consequences, and the Powers That Be need some extra time to clean the embarrassing blood from the walls?" Julie clicked her tongue and shook her head. "Cold, hard fact? It sounds more like cold, hard speculation."
Julie paused for a moment, then pushed herself back up. "I'm sorry, Mister Liebowitz. I thought I could help and do a service to this school, not be thought of as so ignorant that I do not know the difference between writing a story, and reporting the news. I'll leave you be." Julie turned on her heel and started back towards the door.
