Billy allowed himself to be reluctantly tugged further out into the storm, mustering up a strained smile in a vain effort to mask his obvious anxiety. He watched her laugh into the torrent, openly bemused by her attitude. He ducked under the minimal cover of the tree and shook his head to get the water out of his eyes, which he turned back out into the mayhem with an expression of begrudging awe.
"It's..." He began, first thoughtfully quiet, then again louder to be heard, "It's pretty impressive, I can't argue that. I've never seen anything like it." The storm held his gaze for a moment longer, mesmirized, before he gave his head another shake and looked doubtfully to the trunk behind them. "You know, we really shouldn't be under a tree - if lightning strike, it could be really dangerous." He almost sounded disappointed by his own practicality as he rattled off the basic boy scout dogma over the noise.
