FROM: Administration (michael.eisner@kingdom.edu) SUBJECT: Move-In Guidelines for July 29-30
Today (Tuesday, July 29) is the first move-in day for freshmen and Honors students in the Coronado and Great Floridian residence communities. Tomorrow (Wednesday, July 30) will be the move-in day for all other on-campus students in Key West and Port Orleans residence communities. Please keep the following information in mind as you move into your rooms:
Move-in hours are from 9 AM to 9 PM. Before moving into your dorm room, please sign in with Resident Assistants stationed at the front desk of every residence hall to verify your arrival, and pick up your Kastle Key, or electronic key that will permit you to enter the dormitory to which you have been assigned, as well as your dormitory room. Moving in after the scheduled times will incur a monetary penalty and may affect housing eligibility for next year.
Large plastic carts will be provided to help you transport your belongings in bulk up to your rooms. Aside from carts, you are largely expected to carry your belongings up to your room yourselves. Each residence hall has at least two elevators, which shold facilitate ease of transport. Exceptions will be made for students with documented disabilities: please ask a Resident Assistant if you fall into this category and require additional assistance to bring your belongings up to your room or suite.
Floor meetings to discuss resident life guidelines will be held by Resident Assistants in all dormitories the day after all move-ins end (Thursday, July 31). Attendance will be taken, and attendance at each floor meeting is mandatory for all, even if they are not first-time residents on Kingdom University property. Penalties may be incurred for failure to attend. Exact details meeting times are left up to the discretion of the Resident Assistants, who will tell students when it takes place during move-in.
