Yammo knew that forcing Zumi to stew in her worry to bring up the unspoken subject after they were well away from the stable was maybe not the nicest thing she could be doing, but this was a conversation that needed to be had without eavesdroppers, and Zumi would be more on the spot and upset if people overheard what was being said. Especially since what would be said could come back to bite Link in the ass. Yammo wasn't kidding when she said she wanted to protect her fiance's friendship with Link as best she could. As long as Link continued to deserve it, anyway.
So in the name of minimizing how long Zumi had to wait for the other shoe to drop, Yammo hurried through her food, getting up and taking the empty bowl and fork over to Zumi before Zumi was even done cleaning her own dishes. "Here you go, lovely," she said, kissing Zumi's neck as she handed the dishes over. "I'm going to get Tama unhitched, get him out on the road out front."
