Pruce was busying himself with scribbling down ideas for an expanded inventory, offering more from his shop, if the predictions about Hateno's future growth were accurate. Business was slow that morning, no visitors from outside the town coming in, and the other folks in town busy with picking their own jobs back up after putting them on hold the day before. He was expecting to see Link and/or the queen at some point- he'd be disappointed if they didn't stop in and say hi -but he hadn't known when, and wasn't exactly going to watch the clock and count the seconds. They'd get there when they got there.
The door opening had his attention before she spoke up, and he was already setting his notebook aside when she approached the counter. "He already left you to sink or swim?" he asked, taking the napery from her. "Some gentleman." He eyed the terribly-scrawled words and frowned. "Hmph. If he weren't such a good customer, I'd have words for him for volunteering my wallet." He wasn't actually put out by it- it let him help without leaving his counter, and he knew Link was good for it. But sheesh, kid, let a guy offer it first, yeah?
"Well, I guess we'd better get you fed, huh?" He grinned, then nodded at the door. "Ivee'll have to do the cooking, I gotta man the counter, I'm afraid. Tell her I recommend her poultry gravy and biscuits. She didn't spoil me with them this morning, she's not getting out of making them for someone."
Ah, the joys of fatherhood. Harassing one's young is an endless source of amusement.
