Jiraiya rankled at being assisted. He could manage just fine by himself! At least he could have if his wrist hadn't decided to complain very loudly over the last three feet. Ugh! He hated getting old! He didn't care that he was going to die some time, he just didn't want to get old before it happened! Of course it was a little too late for that sentiment, more than a decade too late.
His scowl deepened when he realized that the guy was just a kid. Great. Now he'd never live it down. The great Toad Sage saved from rape by a kid.
"That's what I want to know." He said, unconsciously rubbing his wrist as he settled into what he hoped was an out of the way corner. Out of the way being a relative term considering the size of the space.
And just as soon as she'd appeared, she was leaving. Jiraiya didn't like that. Quick retreats meant two things: she was either getting reinforcements or she was already confident in victory. He liked neither of those scenarios. His wrist was starting to really hurt! Had he sprained it or something?
