It really was like watching a car-wreck. The new guy had no chance, honestly. The illusions were just icing on a rather funny cake - if you found being sort of mean to newcomers entertaining.
So Iruka did some final tidying up in the basement - which was frankly even dustier than one could expect from a dug out room - and came back up just in time to catch the whore-thing.
He made a face.
"I'm fairly sure Raidou's joking," he said - more of a mutter to himself than to Lorne. "But it looks like you'll just have to make yourself comfortable in this place before your friends come."
He put Lorne's watch - an indecipherable piece of tech - on the counter and pushed it towards him - "And probably obtain some of this place's currency."
