Who: Little and Kit When: Wednesday Afternoon, roundabouts. Where: The Forrest. What: Piggy goes out looking for new products, and finds a certain cat in a tree. Rating: Low.
Little's biggest find of the day had been one, strangely out-of-season raspberry plant.
He'd sniffed it out from quite a distance away, of course. At first he was wary- perhaps it wasn't a raspberry plant at all, but an elaborate trick. Perhaps it was some sort of perfume he'd never smelled before- but then again, that wouldn't have made sense given the rugged, leafy context of the forrest. His curiosity had solidly grabbed him by the nose, and he'd followed it to it's resolution.
Which, presently, was a wealth of berries that he hand-picked from the somewhat prickly bush, and deposited into a small burlap sack, leaving behind a tempting handful for any wandering birds. He knew the quality was good. He could smell it in the bush itself. No worms, no crawling plant diseases or rotting fruits. Just fresh, aromatic berries, dark red against the green and brown of the forrest. These, being out of season and rather in demand, would sell well. He'd make a nice little profit, and possibly start saving up for something, though he wasn't sure what. Perhaps a new coat. Or a walking stick. Or a new basket.
He considered the possibilities as he came to rest underneath a little tree, baggie in hand, his back against the rough bark. He arched a bit, and caught a whiff-
of cat. He hadn't noticed it at first, because it didn't really smell like he expected a cat would. It was more like- a nice smell, with a catty undertone. He looked up, half expecting to see a vague, fuzzy tail swishing from a limb.
"Hey there." he raised a hand in polite greeting, and then began to consider picking a different tree to settle under. It was completely acceptable if the creature didn't like to be bothered.
