I doubt I'm your biggest regret. I'd put your parents well before me.

That... sounds exactly like something HYDRA would do, take the opportunity of unease and uncertainty to insert themselves as the new status quo, offer up the notion of protection and security as a means to embedded themselves into the landscape. They take over SHIELD's resources. In a couple of years, they're a monolith that's impossible to escape.

That I can understand, at least. Most people don't realize how much one person can change things.
