He's clueless. He grew up in privilege and has no idea how to exist in the world. I cannot say I was any better than him before I lost my family.

His father is an awful prick who has never approved of anything he has done, and he feels the need to prove himself to him because he feels worthless otherwise. Except he has no idea how to do that and is ill prepared for the dangers of the world.

Give him a chance. I'm genuinely fond of him.
