It took a long moment for Belle to realize that Eobard wasn't paying attention. In fact, he seemed to be zoning out a bit, his expression one of barely contained panic. It was oddly adorable, seeing someone who was apparently so powerful intimidated by a tiny baby. Taking pity on him, she moved back over and adjusted his arms to a more natural position, though she left Gideon in his hold. He would need to learn sooner or later.
"He's fine," she said. "You don't have to worry. Babies are surprisingly resilient, and you're doing great with him. Don't be so tense." She gave him a warm smile. "The dog is adorable, by the way. As is the blanket. It's very thoughtful of you."
Moving back to the kitchen, she went back to pouring tea. "And I asked how you take your tea."
