Percy knew that he and Vex needed to talk. Things had been strange between them ever since the resurrection ritual and, while he still couldn't remember anything that had happened during said ritual, he knew something had happened to cause it. He just didn't know what. He had ideas, of course. He wasn't stupid, no matter what some might think judging by certain choices he made in his life. He knew there was an attraction between himself and Vex. He knew that he loved her, and he was reasonably certain she cared about him as well to some degree. Perhaps it was his relationship with Vax and Gilmore that bothered her. Or perhaps it was something else entirely. Perhaps she really had made some sacrifice during the ritual and was having difficulty with the aftermath of that choice. They had agreed to go for a walk, to talk things out, and now here they were. In the park. Walking together and enjoying the cool autumn weather. And not talking. As much as Percy wanted to say something, he wasn't sure what he could say. "What was it like for you, when you died?" Okay...he supposed he could lead off with that. |
