"You're not wrong," she said sadly. "I'm not even sure that we're going to succeed. Maybe if we had every army that exists in the whole world.. maybe then I would think we had better odds. It frustrates me that people think they're immune to the dragons attacking their city, and thus they don't have to help. They don't have to worry, or lift a finger." It made her blood boil. Thankfully they didn't run into those types very often, but still when they did..
Vex took another sip of her drink, and sat back in the chair and gazed out over the balcony. "And worst of all, that we live but can't manage to kill all the dragons and now live under their tyrannical rule as their personal slaves?" She was saying it in a joking tone, but she kind of meant it. She obviously didn't want people to die, but she didn't want to serve the dragons even more than that. Not that they would be kept alive for such a thing anyway.
"Do you even remember the days when all we had to worry about was a Beholder?" Those were the days. "I am slightly glad for a break though. Don't tell anyone I said that. Sleeping is hard enough, but at least we have time now to actually eat, and drink.. and think."
