Each of them had mastered the art or not talking about their feelings. Except maybe Pike. Keyleth could certainly be overwhelming with happiness when she wanted to be, but Vex knew she kept things just as bottled up inside. Even when she was with Vax, it was hard for her to admit that anything was wrong. That she wasn't perfectly okay with whatever was happening. If they stopped and thought about things.. she would be a complete disaster. Crying was kept in her room, where no one could hear her.
She picked up the mug of tea, thinking it not bad for a kind she wasn't familiar with. It still tasted like tea though, so at least this place wasn't completely abnormal. She sipped, letting the mug warm her hands until it was nearly too warm, and then switching to holding it by the handle.
