Okay so he knew. That was a small victory in and of itself and maybe a sign that Ray should back off. If it was something Mick really wanted him to know he'd say something. The older man was good about being upfront with him. Ray never had to second guess where they stood or worry that Mick was getting bored. Whatever was going on, it didn't have anything to do with him or the excessive geeking out he'd just done over tanks full of reptiles. It was out of his control and Ray would be better off just accepting this much and putting his energy towards making Mick a little less grumpy. He was about to do just that when the older man gave in.
He wanted to say he was surprised to find out that Mick's current mood had something to do with Snart but, really, it wasn't surprising. He'd heard something about a plan from Cisco but had, wisely, decided not to persue the topic any further. Whatever was going there, it was best just to give Snart a wide berth. The two of them would have to cross paths because of Mick but Ray wasn't about to force his company or opinions on someone who didn't care for either. Considering how wrong he'd been about Snart, Ray thought he owed him that much at least. Snart was doing whatever he felt he had to in order to protect someone he cared about. Ray couldn't or wouldn't fault him for that. He'd proven himself loyal to those who managed to work their way into his heart. If it weren't for him Ray and Mick wouldn't have whatever it was they had now.
Instead of saying something he'd immediately regret (like he would've in the past) Ray nodded at the information. "Whatever he's doing it's for the right reasons." It didn't matter if it was dangerous. Snart genuinely cared about Barry. "I guess you just kind of have to trust him and, I mean, Cisco might not be your biggest fan but he might not let Snart do anything too dangerous." Not that Cisco could stop him if he had his mind made up. Ray just figured that Barry's best friend wouldn't want him to be upset over something happening. He could tell, however, that Mick wasn't comforted by anything he was saying. He didn't always know how to help things along in the older man's other relationships. He was willing to try because he cared about Mick and wanted his teammate to be happy. "If you need to spend more time with him... for your own piece of mind I'm not going to complain." In the past he may have gone as far as to suggesting breaking things off but he was trying to think of himself while thinking of everyone else too. He stopped short of trying to include himself in whatever plan Snart had going. It wasn't his place
