Mick hadn't really meant to draw attention to himself, but realized he had the second he let the guy flee the bathroom. Not the least bit surprised when he caught Len slip himself through the bathroom door only moments later. He stood with his hands on either side of the sink, opting to only glance at Len through the mirrors reflection rather than turn around to face him. "Take it how you want it." He told him when the other spoke. Repeating a motto the two of them had lived by for most their lives. He wasn't going to stand there and pretend it had been for any other reason than that he was upset by what Len had told him. The next thing to come out of Len's mouth not necessarily something Mick hadn't already put together over the years, but hearing it out loud from Len himself only made the feeling in his chest tighten.
It had become pretty clear to Mick at some point that Len did in fact want him to some extent. However, being manipulated time and time again had warped Mick's mind into not knowing the seniority of Len's desire, or if he'd only ever been using him; granted for mutual gain of course. He couldn't say the confusion was all Len's fault either. He himself was guilty for starting things as a way to one up Len the only way he knew how. By taking him apart in the most effective way he could. He was also equally to blame for making Len feel like he had to be manipulated to stick around. In actuality it couldn't have been further from the truth. Aside from Len, Mick had always kept himself at a distance from people as a way to protect himself from getting hurt. A trait that was burned into him at a very young age, by his own parents nonetheless. Len of course had a similar outlook on things and had somehow managed to slip under Mick's defensive wall. But even with Len. he'd had his limits.
At the offered lighter, Mick paused a moment before finally turning around to face Len and take it back from him. However he didn't flick it open like he would of in the past, instead slipping it back into his pocket, keeping one hand wrapped tight around it. If Len really wanted to talk, which by the looks of it he did, then Mick wasn't going to allow himself to get lost in flames. Not now. Not when he would never have the chance to really talk to Len again outside this bubble of time. His time as Chronos not only gave him clarity of his own mind, but of his feelings as well. Things like love were beyond his understanding before, and even though he still didn't quite have the concept down, he knew what he felt for Len wasn't anything less than.
While all this was running through Mick's head, Len had continued to speak, and as they'd done for years, Mick stood quiet and listened. As with most speeches Len made, he had some strong points. Mick had only recently realized, thanks in large part to Sara and her pesky visits to him while in the brig, that the bound he and Len had was a once in a lifetime thing. Something that couldn't be replaced. He also knew Len's sacrifice had been spurred in the face of saving Mick, as well as the rest of the team he'd grown to care about. That alone should have been enough to make him realize his worth in the other eyes, but for some reason he still had doubts.
