Well, that had gone worse than anticipated. Raising a hand to touch his cheek, Rip was trying his best to conceal the clench that had tightened in his jaw. His first instinct was to lash back at Barry, to punch him in return, because that response was absolutely unnecessary since they had both gotten the wrong end of the stick as far as what he was saying about Mr. Snart. But as his other fist clenched at his side, he spared a glance at Leonard with a heavy frown. If he was to respond like that, he anticipated that things would simply end up spiraling from there.
"That's not what I was saying," Rip said, his tone even as he looked up at the two of them. "Besides, Mr. Snart was hardly the expendable one of the lot. It's simply that his history isn't set yet. Because of the lack of obvious records, any flux within it isn't a massive worry. You, on the other hand, are well recorded," He said, looking over at Barry with a heavy frown. "Any change could potentially break the ultimate outcome and without Gideon, I cannot assess the stability of the timeline to see whether the outcome is negligible. Your happiness isn't particularly important in the moment, Mr. Allen."
All right. Maybe that was unnecessarily cruel, but it was impossible to say how much of an issue the two of them had created being unsupervised. All Rip could think, now, though, was that it was probably a good thing that he had actively removed Leonard from the timestream before this could have happened back in their reality.
