Barry was incredibly grateful for the relationship he and Len had managed to build. He knew it wouldn't have happened back home, or at least not like this. It wasn't like he hadn't realized that he and Len had been flirting to some degree almost the entire time they'd known each other. But there had been so many other things to focus on and any kind of relationship with one of his enemies would have been a complete mess. Here though, things were different. All the problems of home weren't an issue and Barry found that he was happy with Len. He had almost given up on the idea of being happy at all, so he had no desire to give this up.
It was almost enough to make him give up on this ridiculous debate, but only almost. Barry was way too stubborn to concede in something like this, even if he would much rather be focusing on more pleasant pursuits. He knew he was right and he wasn't going to pretend otherwise. Not even for Len.
"If the redemption is the point," Barry said, "then it should build to that. Why would you want to watch Vader's redemption only to go back and watch him fall. That isn't satisfying. My order works because you see Anakin and Luke both struggle and in the end they both overcome that. Their journeys parallel each other in so many ways. Seeing them both grow and struggle and fall, in their own ways, and then rise past it...that's what makes the movies great. Why wouldn't you want to end with that triumph?" He broke off with a hiss at Len's attention to his chest, retaliating by dragging his fingernails lightly down Len's stomach.
"I'm not going to admit that," Barry said, "because that's not what it's about." He didn't exactly protest being pulled into another kiss, even if it was a dirty distraction technique. "You really need to admit that I'm right and that my order makes way more sense than yours." He pushed Len back against the couch and leaned down to kiss him, rocking their hips together again and carefully channeling just enough of the Speed Force to add a slight vibration to the action. "And Kylo Ren is misguided and has made some really screwed up choices, and he probably thinks he's beyond redemption, but it's like you said. The movies are about hope and overcoming darkness. He'll realize his potential for good by the end of it."
