In truth, it was maybe fair to say that this thing with Barry was close to the only stable relationship he'd ever had. He didn't do relationships. Not really. Certainly not in the conventional sense. The longest one's he had to compare it to were Lisa and Mick. One was family, and thereby eliminated from comparison, and the other had always been it's own special kind of roller coaster. How ironic that all he'd had to do to find something worthwhile was sleep with the enemy. Literally. Although they weren't really defined by that anymore. At least not here. And he was committed to trying to be better, at least in this. Because after all the losses and mistakes he needed to prove to himself that not everything he touched had to turn to shit.
And it spoke volumes that Barry had his mind far and away from thoughts like that when they were like this. Arguing, but in a way that was so far from hostile and only physical in the best way. Len wasn't tactile by nature, but he obviously enjoyed it like this. When he could skate his fingers over Barry's stomach as soon as his shirt was off. But it still wasn't enough to make him give up quite yet.
"Some Greek tragedy starts with the fall, and revisits the origin. You travel from one emotional climax then cycle through it again. And even if you want to keep it linear and watch the prequels before the originals, which we all know are superior anyway," his hands had gravitated up Barry's chest by then and he pinched his nipples just to enhance his point. "It's the redemption that's worth seeing. That's what gives people hope in the end, Barry. That even someone as dark and twisted as Vader can inspire the next generation to be better."
He maybe had some personal investment in that narrative, but that wasn't a point worth bringing up. "Just admit you're only trying to start with the best two first, Red" he reeled him in for another kiss once he'd locked his arms behind Barry's neck. Which was where he kept them for just a little bit more leverage when he rolled his own hips up in retaliation for earlier. "We both know Kylo's going to come in and screw it up anyway."
