Narrative: Leia Organa

LEIA ORGANA
NOW • Her apartment in New Sakaar

A device Leia found before lights up and she discovers the community of Derleth.

⚠ None.

One day, a few months after she'd arrived in New Sakaar, Leia realized she had become complacent. Becoming complacent hadn't happened overnight, but realizing she was complacent had. She'd spent her time forging relationships, especially the one she had with the Grandmaster. She didn't have his ear the way some beings did who ingratiate themselves to him, but he did listen to her. She made sure he did, especially when it counted. She'd taken an immediate dislike to the games - these fights - that the Grandmaster loved so much. Eventually, Leia was able to convince him not to kill all the gladiators every time. After all, if a favorite gladiator died, their fans might rebel. Keeping the games exciting without the inevitable death every match? That was an idea. Of course, Leia would have preferred to convince the Grandmaster not to do these gladiator matches entirely, but she knew that wasn't probable. It didn't mean she wouldn't try. She'd spent her entire life, her entire career, the entire Rebellion and Resistance, trying. Some times were easier than others. Here, it was hard. She was out of her element, but if Leia did anything well, it was that she could adapt. The day of Fight Night, she'd woken up early in her sparsely decorated apartment, knowing that the Grandmaster had, once again, found a new crop of gladiators. She had stopped asking how he managed it, whole groups at a time. Scrappers could pull in a few here or there now and again, but this wasn't a few one offs. This was a big deal. Early on after arriving into the Void, Leia had come across what appeared to be a communication device, though it hadn't connected her to anyone or anything helpful. She'd pocketed it and kept it as one of her few possessions - just in case. Apparently that 'just in case' was today. For the first time since she'd found the device, she noticed it lighting up and making noise. She picked it up and stared at it for a moment. It lit up again. "That's new," Leia murmured to herself, turning the device over in her hand. Then, she noticed the words. So it was a communication device then, she realized. Even though she needed to make her way to the arena, she gave herself a few minutes to investigate. It appeared as though there was an entire community in the Void, one she hadn't come across before. That explained the new large amount of new gladiators, she considered. "Derleth," she murmured. She scanned what she could see, read through a few of the communications. Leia waited to see how she felt about the discovery. Her intuition, fueled by her connection to the Force, rarely led her astray. She felt warm, a tingling simmering in her veins. Leia nodded once. She looked around at the small apartment she had called home for the last few months. She felt no attachment to it, but she felt called to this community she'd just found. Now, she thought, was the time to make a change. Leia pocketed the device, found a bag to pack her few possessions, both the ones that came to the void with her and the a few she'd acquired since arriving, and then left, closing the door behind her.
