"I am that," Miles agreed happily. "Things are going well, I think," he answered. There hadn't really been any indications that it wasn't going well. Miles liked spending time with Katie, had enjoyed it even before she'd gotten pregnant, so he saw no reason for that to really change. "Yeah, that's the plan. Obviously I get paternity leave, but that's like... two weeks? I'm trying to arrange my cases so I can take some more time off, with it being summer season it's not too bad," Miles explained. Ideally, he was hoping to get at least six weeks off altogether, which seemed more reasonable than two weeks. "I'm not really fussed whether it's a boy or a girl," Miles shrugged. "Though, a boy seems... easier? Like, I know how to do that." Of course, it might very well turn out that Miles had no idea.
Miles nodded at Sam's explanation, before snorting when he said he'd considered it to be Miles' birthday but had opted against it. "Fair," Miles said, because he probably wouldn't get a tattoo of Sam's birthday on him either. "What about the day you were adopted?" Miles suggested. "It's kind of like a birthday but better," he said teasingly. Honestly, Miles probably would consider getting the date of when Sam was adopted tattooed, if he had to choose. That was definitely more important to him, the day Sam became a part of their family. "Or you can wait until Katie has the baby, get their birthday tattooed," he joked.
