What in Circe's name?
who ? Narcissa Malfoy & Miles Bletchley
when ? Saturday 20th October, early evening
where ? Malfoy Manor
what ? Accidentally glowing
warnings/rating ? T
status ? Complete

The WI visit to the production of Into the Forbidden Forest had gone very well. They had chosen the matinee because tickets were cheaper, plus those who tended to have evening commitments would still be able to make them after the performance. Most of the other women seemed to enjoy the performance, and while Narcissa could definitely see that the production was amateur the quality was high.

She had arranged to meet Miles back at the Manor, knowing that he too had attended the performance. It was a little bit of a thrill, knowing that her friends were at the same performance as her lover who she'd be meeting almost straight afterwards. She didn't particularly feel ashamed of what she was doing with Miles, and mostly considered it a fun arrangement born from the fact they got on well, but she was also aware it was a little outside the norm.

As the group were saying their goodbyes in the reception area Laura, the social secretary, pointed out the dish of free sweet samples available and several people took one, Narcissa included. The boiled sweet was decorated with a tiny skeleton imprint. Clearly someone had bought Halloween themed sweets early for the centre, and she could hardly begrudge them that. She popped the sweet in her mouth as she was leaving, before apparating back to near the gates of the Manor to meet Miles.

Together they walked up the path, chatting about a variety of topics, including the play. As much as there were moments when Narcissa wanted to (and indeed had) just rip his clothes off, she appreciated the fact that they could still enjoy each others' company before or after sex too.

They had chatted some more over a drink before going up to her room as the light was beginning to fade slightly. She had been thoroughly distracted by their activities, and rather focused on looking at Miles rather than herself; so when she got up after a few minutes of extremely sated exhaustion to clean herself up a little and caught sight of herself in the mirror she gasped.

"Miles?" she asked, looking over at the man, who had his eyes closed. "Is it just me, or can you also see the glowing?" It was fully dark now and although the lights in the room had lit it was a relatively gentle glow and she could still see, emanating through her skin, a sort of glowing. She had no idea where it was coming from.

Miles liked his arrangement with Narcissa. There was plenty of discussion about theatre, which was definitely something he enjoyed, but also plenty of sex and Miles was a big fan of that, too. But in general, Narcissa was just very nice company. She was smart and confident in herself, both things that Miles appreciated in women. There also didn't seem to be an expectation that this was anything more than what it actually was and Miles liked that, too. Sex and talking about theatre were definitely some of Miles' favourite things.

When after both, Narcissa got up, Miles turned on his stomach in the bed, trying to decide if they had enough energy for another go or whether dinner should be considered when Narcissa's question drew Miles' attention to her. "What?" He asked opening his eyes but before he'd actually looked at her, the question so strange. Except then Miles did look at Narcissa and frowned. "It's not just you," he told her, looking down at himself, but no, Miles' bones didn't seem to be glowing. Getting up from the bed, Miles walked over to Narcissa, running a hand over her arm, the bone in it shining through her body. "Does it hurt?" He asked with some concern.

By the time Miles reached her, she had stretched out her hand to view the effect more clearly. She hadn't noticed at first that the glow was in the shape of a skeleton, presumably her own. Once she held her hand up, however, it was perfectly clear. "I'm glad it's not just me," she said, wriggling her fingers in fascination as she watched the glow of her bones move. "And no, it doesn't hurt. I only noticed because I saw a glow in the mirror," she said, gesturing toward her dressing table.

"What in the world?" she asked, stretching out her foot to see the bones there too. "How did this happen?" she asked aloud. She didn't think Miles actually had the answer, but at present she wasn't all that concerned. Plus the sex had made her rather more relaxed than usual. She ran a hand over his chest, clearly this was only affecting one of the, although her glowing hand next to his dark skin was slightly entertaining.

Looking down at Narcissa's hand when she placed it against his chest, Miles almost found it amusing how now it was not only pale but also glowing. When Narcissa assured him that it didn't hurt, he did smile. If it didn't hurt, then Miles didn't feel too bad for thinking it was pretty funny. "I have no answers as of why you are glowing," he told Narcissa fairly. "But it's kind of amusing?" He offered, since it was at least kind of amusing. Leaning down, Miles pressed a kiss against Narcissa's shoulder, before running his tongue over it. "Licking doesn't seem to get it off," he told her, tone filled with amusement.

Pulling back a bit, Miles turned Narcissa around. "It's everywhere," he commented. "Or rather, all of your bones," he added. "Hogwarts never taught us anatomy, but I definitely would've been interested if this was how," he told Narcissa with a grin.

"Amusing and fascinating," she agreed, concentrating more closely on her wrist when she realised there seemed to be a large amount of tiny bones there whose glows didn't quite meet each other. She smiled and then chuckled at the treatment of her shoulder. "That's kind of a pity, licking the glow off every bone in my body could have been fun," she mused with a little grin. Honestly, Miles brought out her more playful side far more easily than many people had recently.

She turned willingly, proud of her body and not bothered now by being naked in front of him. "I know the general outline of a skeleton, but nothing more," she agreed. "Although can you imagine the stuffier professors and the naked, glowing people?" she pointed out and started to giggle. "Circe, who would they get as the models?" That was a deeply disturbing thought, and she couldn't imagine the teachers or the governors agreeing to that as a course of action.

Miles laughed at Narcissa's comment about how it would've been fun for him to lick the glow off. "I can still lick over every bone in your body," Miles said giving Narcissa a grin. "Or I can certainly giving it my best go." As he had already pointed out, he hadn't studied anatomy so whilst he obviously could see the glow, he still might manage to miss some of the bones. Of course, if he could lick the glow off, that'd make it easier. Nonetheless, Miles had always been a man willing to take on a challenge.

Whilst Miles did not, in fact, want to imagine his Hogwarts professors naked, he also wasn't sure he wanted to compare who of Narcissa's teachers had still been at Hogwarts by the time Miles made it there. "Perhaps that's also why we never learned life drawing," he joked, hand running over Narcissa's (glowing) spine. "It's kind of cool," Miles observed. "But I still have no explanation for why it happening. Do you want to go to St Mungo's? Or owl them?" If she wasn't in pain, then it probably wasn't dangerous, but it wasn't normal either.

"Mmm, that does sound very appealing," Narcissa said, pressing a lush kiss to Miles' lips. "But I think a few very important parts are missing bones," she said. Then she tilted her head and considered. "Or is that my reward for letting you find all of my bones?" The idea was both amusing and kind of sexy, but probably not a practical way of working out what was going on.

The snort that escaped Narcissa, whilst tiny, was deeply derisive. "Most magical folk have little need for lessons on the skeleton. The healing professions clearly get their instruction later," she mused. "And I don't know how appropriate life drawing is for teenagers." That was definitely her parental side talking. "Perhaps we should...although what do they usually ask if one attends? Have you eaten or drunk any new items, or ones which might have been...oh!" she suddenly had a rather large suspicion of where the effect might be coming from. "Tell me, did you see the small bowl of sweets which were out in the reception area at Crosshaven?" she asked in the sort of lightly conversational tone which indicated she might have worked something out. She was drawing herself upright in indignation as she spoke. It was the sort of stance that moved 'good posture' to 'commanding a room'.

Miles snorted at being informed that some very important parts of Narcissa didn't contain bones. "I'll lick those, too," he promised, pressing a kiss against Narcissa's neck before looking at the mirror. "I've never slept with anyone who was glowing," he teased. It wasn't exactly something one expected their partners to do. Of all the different things, glowing was definitely pretty low on Miles' list.

"I think most of us also have very little need for lessons in Divination," Miles pointed out. If anything, he was pretty sure he would've preferred life drawing. "Besides, there's magical art, isn't there? I don't think it would've been bad to learn that," he commented honestly. Miles had, after Hogwarts, gone to university, so there were things he had carried on studying. He also had made friends who'd studied magical art history but you kind of had to be passionate about it to begin with. "I didn't," Miles answered honestly when Narcissa asked him if he'd seen a bowl of sweets at the community centre. "But I assume you think that's the culprit? It's probably then just a Halloween prank," Miles offered. "And unlikely to be very dangerous."

"Glad to hear it," she said with a little chuckle. "Not that I especially expected otherwise," she said, letting have a little more access to her neck. "How very unadventurous of you, I would be delighted to help you rectify that," she said as she ran a hand down his chest and stomach towards his cock. It was just as well she had never made it to the bathroom if they were going for another round. Cleaning up was generally a bit pointless if you were just going to make a mess again.

That was hardly a point she could disagree with. "True, although at least it is an optional class, if rather tedious." Narcissa had been heavily guided by her parents into choosing the 'suitable' subjects of Divination and the study of Ancient Runes, neither of which she had continued to NEWT level. "I think art history might have been possible, I believe art itself has some special study program," she said. It was something which had come up when she was vetting artists for family portraits. It wasn't particularly a topic she was more familiar with than necessary for small talk and discussing old masters. "Yes, I rather suspect so. The piece I took had a skeleton imprinted on it," she said, and gestured to her glowing body. "I do hope it runs out before it becomes vexing."

Narcissa was very pleasant to spend time with, and Miles thoroughly enjoyed her sense of humour. He also liked the way she so easily stood there in the middle of the room with him naked as they both inspected her rather glowing bones. Reaching to brush his hand over Narcissa's hip, Miles gave a hum of agreement, even if he wasn't paying a great deal of attention to exactly what he was agreeing. Narcissa was fairly distracting, was Miles' excuse. "Well, it's not vexing yet," Miles teased. "So why don't we see how much progress I can make with my tongue before it does become so?" He suggested, leaning in to run his tongue over Narcissa's collar bone. It didn't get rid of the glow, but it was nonetheless fun. Miles had no objections trying it with all the rest of her bones, too.
