I just think that we shouldn't be celebrating consumerist holidays which are specifically focused on the commodification of affection. A celebration of certain saints is obvs something I can get behind, thank you Catholicism, but while I can't escape the cogs of capitalist culture, I'm trying not to be a negative force within it. Why does affection need to be a commodity to be traded in?
