The girl, who had some knowledge about the ways and habits of House Elves, knew better than to offer the little creatures any form of clothing. Unlike humans in general, the House Elves did not seek out material possessions as a means to gain or show off their status, but more rather, it was the fact that their services were welcomed that served as their main source of pride. It was both endearing and rather sad.
She knelt down beside the House Elf, taking care not to disturb her little fortress of pots and pans. "Really James...don't you think she looks quite fetching in her little doily? Hm...what could the dearheart want to lift up her spirits?" Then an idea occurred to her. "I know! How about taking her on a flight?"
