This was his year.
At least, it was suppose to have been, but it's not like anyone would remember him joining the Quidditch team, what with the Malfoy kid becoming the youngest seeker since Harry Potter to play in that position.
It didn’t seem fair.
It didn't seem right.
James shoved his hands in his pockets and kicked the pebbles in front of him.
He had been looking forward to this all summer. He had been training in secret with his mom and with his uncle Ron. He was going to make the Quidditch team and play Seeker.
It was going to be a surprise for his father.
He was going to make him proud.
Another Potter joining the ranks of Quidditch players. A family's tradition, going back to his grandfather's era.
James' lower lip trembled.
And he hadn't even got to try out for the team. He'd been so nervous that he'd been sick the night before and he'd ended up sleeping in. He made it to the tryouts just in time to hear them declare Malfoy their new King.
