Who: Barty Crouch Jr. & Nathaniel Gamp What: Nat needs to rant When: Monday, 21 Jun 1980, evening Where: Leaky Cauldron Rating: TBD – language no doubt Status: In Progress/Closed
On Saturday evening, Nat felt like he had the whole world before him. He also sensed that he could discover it all by his lonesome, which was just fine with him since this was his life that he was supposed to be sorting. However, Nat had clearly underestimated how important it was for his father to find a mate for his only son, the sole Gamp male in his generation. His father kept dropping names at the joint family meals, dinner especially. Nat wondered if it was too much to ask his father to keep these ideas to himself and just speak to him about it behind a closed door in his study. He had no desire to be on the spot like this in front of everyone.
Fearing more of the same on Monday night, Nat decided he needed some fresh air and input from his best mate and first cousin – Barty Crouch Jr. Arriving at the Leaky Cauldron, Nat pushed through the doorway and glanced around the place. Actually, the place was quite empty probably because it was so early in the week and most everyone had likely spent their money at the bar over the weekend. Spotting Barty across the room, he stopped at the bar for a moment and secured a pitcher of ale before continuing to the table. Dropping into a seat across from his cousin, Nat spoke up, “Father is a complete prat.” Realizing that had been a rather horrid way to begin the conversation, he backtracked, “Thanks for coming and how are you?”
