Apparently, there was one thing that was better than pirates: shirtless James Potter. Lily would have liked to have blamed her curiosity on the rum she'd partaken in but she could not deny that she'd been curious the few nights she'd been sleeping in James' bed just what was beneath the Appleby Arrows tee he wore to sleep in. It was just that the rum emboldened her to act on that curiosity.
She hadn't been joking about docking the SS Lillene at three--Lily and Marlene took this pirate business very seriously. As soon as they'd "docked" it, though, Lily was abandoning ship and ignoring the land lubbers in the common room as she made her way up the stairs to the boys' dorm and into James' room before the clock even read 3:01.
Using a mild sticking charm, Lily hung the KEEP OUT sign on James' curtains and crawled into what was now known as Fort Potter (aka, James's bed). He, as he'd said he would be, was already there and, with a grin on her face, Lily crawled toward him. One knee on either side of James' hips, Lily leaned down over him and kissed him, one hand situated at his ribs as the other lifted to curl her fingers into his hair. That was definitely not the rum talking. This was fast becoming her favorite pastime whether sober or not
