The only disappointing factor about the trip thus far was that Amelia had been separated from her group of friends. They hadn't received an assignment of seats together, but rather had been given seat assignments that were somewhat scattered throughout the plane as there had been a mixup in their reservations, with the group ending up having to accept a couple of no-shows so they could all fly out onboard the same flight. Making her way toward the back of the plane, Amelia claimed her seat, hoisting her carry-on bag up so she could deposit it into the overhead before she settled herself down in the seat. Waiting no until the announcement came that the plane would be lifting off. And while the flight started off smoothly enough, the landing of the large metal craft would end up being anything but.
The trip turned out to be a ride through hell. A bit of turbulence was something she could have handled without the blink of an eye, but things catapulted beyond that. It was like the plane was riding on rough, rolling waves. The aircraft rocking violently from one side to the other. Which had been a scary thing in itself, but then the oxygen masks dropped. A clear indication to Amelia that the were headed for trouble. The impact of the plane crashing onto solid ground would be the last thing Amelia would remember. She was thrown side to side, buckled, in her seat, her head then banged against the plate of glass of the window. The impact of head to glass was strong enough to cause the pane of window to crack and spider web outward toward the edges of the window, and leave Amelia with a contusion to the side of her temple which would start to discolor until moments later. The dark haired college student also suffered minor scrapes that trickled droplets of blood, and a sprain to her right wrist. There was a soft groan, most likely to have gone undetected as Amelia slumped into unconsciousness.
Nothing registered from that point on, at least for the next couple of hours. Not her removal from the plane's wreckage by Puck. Nor Brianna taking over keeping watch over her while Puck went in search of Tania and others in their party. Not even the random screams and calls for help from those still trapped within the fuselage of the downed aircraft. Her world was black, with Amelia safely cocooned within it. At least for the moment.
