If he was being honest, Emmett needed this as much as he thought she might. He wasn't completely unaffected by the crash, but he was putting on the bravest face he could, for the passengers and for his girlfriend. It was the sort of thing his dad had raised him to do, to keep it together and be the rock jutting out of the ocean that drowning swimmers could cling to for safety and support. It was just so much easier and more rewarding when that support was given to someone he could cuddle and kiss.
"It's hard to say," he answered thoughtfully. "Right now, it's early enough we should see them by nightfall. One of those satellites should've picked up on our location by now, so maybe even sooner than that. Just gotta sit tight and wait for help to arrive, maybe enjoy some of the scenery after we've got people bandaged up and calmer. I'm proud of you, by the way. You just helped safely land the plane in a situation beyond your control with no fatalities, and you aren't falling apart like so many other people would do. You're terrific. Just terrific."
