Penny had pulled on a pair of dark jeans and a free t-shirt she'd received from the magazine. The situation did not call for dressing up and she knew Charlie wouldn't mind. She was actually fairly certain he hadn't decided to wait for her before drinking and that she would arrive to find him at least halfway gone already. She didn't intend to get herself well and truly drunk, but at least she could watch over him and make sure he didn't do anything idiotic.
She knocked on the door and pushed it open, not bothering to wait for him to answer. She took in the sight of the firewhiskey bottle and the near-empty glass in Charlie's hand. So he was at least one, if not two, glasses in. "Are you okay?" Penny asked, moving to sit on the arm of his chair.
