"Thank you." she said with a bright smile, Hermione's hug taking her a bit by surprise even when she realized that her friend was coming towards her for just that. "I'm actually happy you know? Not that I planned this, but it feels alright for whatever reason."
The reason was that Ginny didn't have quidditch to keep herself occupied. It just hadn't sunk in fully that a baby meant quidditch would probably never keep her occupied again. The amount of women who returned to playing professionally after having children was practically zero.
But they indeed weren't getting married. Her entire family would be shocked to learn that Harry and Ginny had never openly discussed marriage. It was just something that they knew would happen eventually, but it certainly wasn't going to happen just because there was a baby to consider. Ginny wasn't that sort of person - no matter how much she loved Harry she wasn't going to get married out of anything beyond her own desire to do so.
