Daphne, who was always on time, walked out of Gringott's at precisely 11:44 AM and stood on the steps, waiting for Pansy. She had needed to pick up some gold for their shopping trip today, and to exchange some galleons for Muggle money in anticipation for her and Percy's trip to Spain.
She had high hopes that Pansy wouldn't nag her about who she would be traveling with, but she wasn't optimistic. Daphne had always been one to hang out with whomever she wanted, but whether or not she told people about it was another matter. Daphne genuinely liked Percy, and she didn't think Pansy would take too kindly to knowing that she was friendly with him. Some old school prejudices were hard to erase. Daphne herself felt them--she had a less than favorable opinion of Ron Weasley and Harry Potter, because of her old allegiance to Draco. Percy was different, though. He could have been a Slytherin if he weren't so fussy about "dishonesty". Still, she didn't want to tell Pansy yet. Maybe later.
As Daphne leaned against the stair rail and checked her watch, she decided that she would certainly tell Pansy about her one night stand with Eddie Charmichael. And perhaps the cupcake incident with Theodore. Maybe that would placate her.
