Charlie moved the giant pillow on the sofa and sat down. He looked around the room before him, not looking to the back of the room to notice Penny sneaking away. The furniture itself was very sparse, it was just the multitude of photographs and books that filled the space in. Everywhere he looked beasts were roaring and taking off in the frames. At least in photos they stuck to their own frame, or at least could not hop into another. He was sure the dragon on one wall would be devouring most of the other creatures if they were about to get into their photographs.
Charlie realized, of course, that she was taking an extra long time to put a cat to sleep. Maybe she was fixing up a little bed or some milk? He tapped his hands on the gray cushion, waiting.
