Astoria was very grateful that Daphne didn't push things sometimes. She'd never really though of fancying Gavin before the picnic, and she only did during the picnic because she was face to face with him for the first time in a very long while, and he was a good looking man. And then of course he had been so nice to her the whole time, laying out his robes for her to sit on, and helping her with the food, and just being so kind. But she didn't think that she seriously fancied him, oh no! At least, she didn't think!
"Well he doesn't seem to have very many friends. And I think he's still a little scared after the war. I noticed that he looks around a lot and watches everyone carefully as if they're going to turn into horrible monsters and hurt him somehow." Her brow furrowed and she looked down at the ground for a few seconds before glancing back up at Queenie. "He's very sweet though. I just want him to know that people are there for him." Smiling at her sister now, Story looked around the kitchen. "Are you ready?"
