Penelope eyed the lead singer and the other members of the band doubtfully. They didn't look much like a very professional band; you think they'd put more effort into their appearances if they were going to open for a major act like the Weird Sisters. She was pleasantly surprised, however, when the lead singer turned out to have a rather soothing voice.
She nodded at Charlie understandingly. That didn't seem to be the case this time. Chalk on the Board didn't look like much but they could play, which is a lot more than could be said for other bands. "They aren't bad," Penny said loudly enough to be heard over the playing, moving the arm around him down far enough to feel the dragonskin under her fingers. She was incredibly grateful she'd been coerced into admitting her love of men in leather pants. She'd have to give Charlie his school uniform fantasy one day. One day far into the future.
