The comment that he 'wasn't man enough' was taken lightly by Percy, which was how it had been delivered by Penny, as a teasing joke, but later, after reflection, these words would come back to Percy.
The time to discuss coffee was over. Keeping a straight face throughout, he nodded slowly and replied, "I thought that was what you wanted to talk about that evening. However, you were a bit tipsy and falling asleep at that. Not the best state of mind to discuss such topics. We also had a prior heated exchange, and I was afraid that a conversation like this would degrade to an emotional display from the both of us."
The way Percy spoke, in such a business-like tone, he might've been talking about the Chinese Healers or thin bottomed cauldrons. In reality, treating this in a 'professional' way helped Percy to divorce himself from any attachments he had, both past and present. The only time he had reacted was when Penny confessed to 'residual feelings', and then he only raised his eyebrows with interest.
"Of course I'd want to know about something like this. I don't want to have any conflict with my brothers. I knew Charlie was upset with me, but wasn't certain, but I suspected it had something to do with... well, you. But I'm assuming by what you said earlier, that you've resolved the issue?"
