WHO: Seamus Finnigan and Padma Patil WHAT: He's working, she has a lunch break WHEN: (Mid-day, right after lunch rush) Thursday, February 24th WHERE: Leaky Cauldron
Seamus didn't have his normal skip in his step when the lunch rush started to dwindle down. Most of the people still lurking about were their regulars who were there to have a pint or two, regardless of the time of day. Really, Seamus wasn't one to judge. If they wanted to have a drink - a pint or something harder - what business was it of his? People had their reasons. Following the end of the war, it seemed like everyone had a story that they wanted to forget every last detail of; alcohol could do that. Even with the passage of time, there were still people lurking about for that reason. Others had lost people - to war or to normal life - and drank for the sake of being social. Then there were the few stragglers who drank when doing shady business that Seamus wanted to be utterly ignorant of.
Normally, those sorts of things were entertaining to him. Right then, they weren't. He had vanished from the social scene and still wasn't quite sure how to get back into the rhythm of things. Shite, he hadn't even met Dean's girl.
As a waiter ducked into the back for a few minutes, Seamus stepped up to take care of the people at the bar. He looked at the nearest person to ask if they needed anything and, rather quickly, realized they looked rather familiar.
