Eleanor had done a lot of thinking over the past few weeks. Even though she wasn't directly affected by the incident at the WWN, it made her realize that it was time for her to finally get over what had happened to her. All day when she was at work at the Menagerie, Eleanor tried to come up with a way of accomplishing this task, and eventually her mind went to the conclusion that she needed to change things in her life. She decided to start with a few new pieces for her wardrobe. Nothing that she would wear to work, of course - it could get very messy there - but things she could wear when she went out. Because she was going to be trying to do that more often, too.

Once she got off work, she went to Gringott's to take some gold out of her vault, and then went to one of the many clothing shops Diagon Alley had to offer. It was there that Eleanor could be found, standing in front of a full length mirror and wearing a very pretty blue spring dress. She would have looked very nice in it, had she not had an expression of mingled horror and confusion on her face. She was typically a very casual dresser, and she didn't know a thing about dressing up. She wished that she would have asked Miles or Audrey to come along with her to help, but the former was having girl problems, and the latter was probably spending quality time with George.

"I have no idea what I'm doing," Eleanor said to herself, her face falling into a frown.

	"Well, that's obvious." Verity said, watching Eleanor in the blue dress. She'd just come out of another dressing room, wearing a fantastic red dress. She was preparing for Valentine's day, a bit early. But things at home were rough, so she needed something happy to think about. "It's a beautiful dress, but... not really your fit, is it?" 	Remembering her little resolution to herself, Eleanor smiled at Verity just as she was taking in how fabulous the other woman looked in that red dress. She couldn't help but feel a little twinge of jealousy. Here was obviously a person who had fashion sense. "I'm not sure what my fit is exactly," Eleanor admitted, the smile fading and her frown returning. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"Well, I think you've got a good start." Verity didn't know Eleanor as well as she'd have liked, as Eleanor was one of Audrey's best friends... but she was relatively friendly with the younger girl. She stepped over in front of the mirrors with Eleanor.

"...you've got a nice cut here. I think the length is perfect, and the sleeves... but the color's all wrong. And the neckline, and the waist." She said, motioning toward each as she spoke. "And you really are a pretty thing, with a very nice figure." She added, giving Eleanor a smile.

"Do you want some help looking for dresses?"

	"Merlin, yes, please." Eleanor knew that she needed serious help with her wardrobe. She was definitely more of a jeans and t-shirts kind of girl, and only recently began to do more with her hair than simply adding a little product to tame her wild curls. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Verity brightened a bit. "Come with me." She said, turning to lead the way out into the store to look on the racks. "I think you would really shine in some warm, earth tones. 	Eleanor looked at Verity skeptically. She wasn't sure she would look good in brown, but she knew that orange was one of her colors. Still, she wouldn't argue. It would be easiest if she simply put her trust into Verity completely. "Small or extra small, depending on how it's made." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"Well, we'll try these first, and then move on to more colors." She gave the other girl a smile. "Green, maybe. A nice, deep, meaningful green." She started back toward the dressing rooms and hung up the dresses in Eleanor's stall so the other girl could try on the dresses. "I'll keep looking. Are you only here for a dress, or do you want to try other things, too?" She asked, growing more and more excited about using Eleanor like a grown-up Paper Doll.

	"Not a problem. I know a few tricks to make your galleons go the distance. We'll pick out a few things for you, and you can mix and match and make a dozen different outfits." 	Eleanor went into the fitting room, and returned a few moments later with the dress verity told her to put on. She didn't think she looked very good in it, but she was going to let Verity be the judge of that. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Verity turned at the sound of the door opening, and gave a smile at the sight of Eleanor in the dress. "Well, there are parts of this dress that I like, but... I think we can do better." She said, reaching over to tug on the shoulders and hips of the dress. "You have a lovely figure. We should take advantage of it. Try on the brown and green one." (Reply to this) (Parent)
