Daphne didn't even get a chance to respond to her sister's question before Prince, makeup puff still in his mouth, spotted the two newcomers. He looked up at them with his big blue eyes, and his head cocked slightly to the side. "I think Prince wants to see them first. Just keep them away from the bitch on the bed so she doesn't get an attitude and decide to hurt them," she said as she picked Prince up and put him onto the floor.
"I going to start seeing a counselour tomorrow." Daphne knew that, at some point, she was going to have to bring up what happened. But at the present time she preferred to talk about other things. She almost felt like she had to get used to having a conversation again before she brought it up.
This was awkward and Daphne didn't like it, but she knew that the longer it took for them to talk - talk about anything, even - that the awkwardness would only increase.
