By request, the lamps in the room had remained unlit and thick, heavy blackout curtains were drawn across the windows creating a velvety eclipse. On top of everything, the infection in Oliver's wound had been giving him headaches from the constant throbbing; he preferred darkness most hours of the day.
It had been several hours of fitful rest, however, since his last visitor and Oliver thought it high-time for a bit of change. 'Feel free to turn on some lights. Can't sleep, anyway.'
